By: Rizoh Tha Dogg Pound crew has terminated its relationship with Cash Money Records after just three months of announcing that they had joined the Birdman-led label. According to a statement on the group’s web site, Dogg Pound severed ties with Cash Money because “Cash Money just couldn’t come up with the cash.” The statement continues: “Though the Tha Dogg Pound was looking forward to working with Slim and Baby, Tha Dogg Pound is moving on to pursue other endeavors. Be on the look out for Make it Rain the Movie and other albums to be released with other parties in the near future, including, Daz’s solo project Only On the Left Side coming soon.” Tha Dogg Pound is currently in talks with other labels and will announce new developments in the near future.

By: Rizoh A couple months ago, Queen Latifah hinted at the possibility of returning to the rap game. Don’t expect that to happen anytime soon, as the Queen is still busy churning out movies at the speed of light. Latifah will co-star with Terrence Howard and Morris Chestnut in The Perfect Holiday, an African American take on the classic Christmas family flick, The Perfect Holiday. It chronicles the life of Nancy, a divorced mother of three who gets so absorbed with her busy schedule that she forgets to take care of herself. The Perfect Holiday, which opens on December 12, also features Gabrielle Union, Katt Williams, Charlie Murphy, and Jill Marie Jones.

By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Last month Foxy Brown was thrown into solitary confinement at Riker’s Island after committing several violations including getting into a shoving match with a fellow inmate. Now because of her good behavior, the rapper was let out of solitary this week and was allowed to rejoin the rest of the population. She was supposed to serve 76 days in solitary, but only did 40 days. "Foxy is out and her spirits never wavered," Brown’s manager Chaz Williams told Billboard.com. "While in solitary, she continued to answer each and every fan letter. She also told me she wrote some pretty hot songs while there. She’s back in the law library and looks forward to ending this chapter in her life." As previously reported, her new album, “Brooklyn Don Diva”, was pushed back to February, 5 2008.

By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Lupe Fiasco is putting the finishing touches on his new album, “The Cool,” set to drop on December 18. After this album he plans on working on his last and final album, tentatively titled “L-U-P-End.” In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly he says he pretty sure he’s done making music after his third album but plans to continue writing. “I’m writing my book! It’s tentatively titled Reflections of a Window-Washer,” Lupe told EW. “It’s about this character who has limited amount of conversation with the world. But he has simulated conversations, as if he had ever went past saying to someone, ‘Hi.’ It’s a real cerebral kind of piece. I’ve got maybe just a few chapters. They published one of the chapterettes in a magazine in London, where [the character] sits and ponders the notion, the physics, the ideals, the commercialization of the future.” Looks like Lupe won’t be dumbing it down anytime soon. Look for the book and possible future novels to be written by his real name, Wasalu Muhammad Jaco. There’s no set date for the book to be released.
By: Hot Gossip Gal Well who would have thought? And still no buzz about his up and coming album. Someone from producer Polow Da Don’s camp is said to have leaked a track from the up and coming album called ‘Makin Love in this Club’ yawn yawn. I don’t see the net buzzing with the joint so it can’t be that great a track.
By: Hot Gossip Gal Word is that Chris Brown who is nothing but a mere child has been caught up in a romantic relationship with his manager, former Def Jam A&R who is possibly closer in age to his Momma than him. You know all those fans will be heated when they learn that cutie Chris has got a chick after all. And word is his Momma is not impressed with this news at all. I bet she already been on the phone to Ushers momma
By: Rizoh Washington Redskins’ star Sean Taylor died on Tuesday after being shot during a burglary attempt at his home near Miami. 24-year old Taylor was at his home to check up on things when the fatal shooting occurred. According to his attorney, the home had been burglarized previously, and it appears Taylor was being targeted. As previously reported, Miami-Dade police said they were called to Taylor’s house in Palmetto around 1:45 a.m. by his girlfriend who told them he had been shot by an intruder. He was reportedly shot in the groin area, which led to the severing of some major arteries. Taylor was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital but later died from excessive bleeding. Our condolences go out to the Taylor family.
