By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Ever since its announcement earlier this year, fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of the Wu-Tang Clan’s new album, “8 Diagrams.” Set to drop in October, RZA recently revealed in an interview with Billboard that his name won’t be the only one under producer credit. He’s enlisted some “major” names to produce some tracks but won’t share names. "You will hear some unique sounding stuff and a vintage hip-hop spirit," he assured. RZA also told Billboard that he’s working on a lost, vintage O.D.B. track to put on the album as a bonus record. The track was actually intended for the group’s debut album, “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)”, but came up missing. "I lost it, because the DJ who handled my equipment back then, we just got disconnected," he said. "He actually found the tape about eight months ago and flew out to California with it. The problem is, it doesn’t sound all that great, because this was 1992 or 1993 when it was recorded. But ODB’s performance is f*ckin’ immaculate. So maybe I can find some software to restore it and put it on as a bonus track." Wu-Tang is currently on the road headlining the Rock the Bells Tour.
By Quibian Salazar-Moreno According to the Hollywood Reporter, advertisers like Home Depot and State Farm Insurance have asked that there ads be pulled from the upcoming broadcast of the new BET show, “Hot Ghetto Mess: We Got To Do Better.” The show, which is hosted by Charlie Murphy, is a collection of home videos and man-on-the-street segments that shows black people “acting ghetto”. The show is inspired by the website,HOT GHETTO MESS, that showcased these videos. According to the founder, Sam Donaldson, the inspiration for the site “is to usher in a new era of self-examination.” According to the website, examples of “acting ghetto” are big girls showing too much skin, doing booty dances for the camera and or females with outlandish hairdos. Most of the videos have been taken down to prepare for the show. That’s not the only thing BET’s has been dealing with. Several group have put up petitions to have the show removed from the channel’s lineup, while others, like WHAT ABOUT TOUR DAUGHTERS, are planning a boycott. "Is my goal to discuss these issues in a format and context that makes people who don’t watch the channel comfortable or do it in a way that engages the 18- to 34-year-old viewer and makes them really think about these things?" Reginald Hudlin, president of entertainment for BET, told The Hollywood Reporter. "There is a generation of people who don’t know how to talk to their kids in a way that doesn’t turn them off. Now they’re complaining because we want to successfully engage them. Instead of complaining, they should take notes." The show will premiere on July 25 lead-in by “S.O.B. (Socially Offensive Behavior)”, a show hosted by D.L. Hughley that is sort of “Candid Camera” show where people are put in racially offensive situations.

By: Rizoh 50 Cent and his new sidekick Ciara got cozy at an upscale restaurant the other night, according to entertainment website TMZ. Ciara, Curtis, and about ten bodyguards reportedly hit up Brentwood Restaurant and Lounge in a horde of cars, including 50’s Lamborghini. The couple then had a romantic dinner in a private booth, while the posse stood guard at a table across from them. 50 and Ciara recently collaborated on the latter’s new single, “Can’t Leave ‘Em Alone.”
By: Rizoh Now that he’s done singing for kids, Andre 3000 is ready to make grown man music again. Dre has revealed that he’s currently working on a solo album, which will be released before the next OutKast album. Apparently, Ice Cold is not the only one going for dolo this time. Partner-in-rhyme Big Boi is also packaging his second solo LP. “Big Boi is working on a solo album right now. I’m working on a solo album as well because of all the remix work that’s been coming out,” Andre told MTV News recently. “After we do those solo albums, we’re planning on doing another Outkast album. I don’t know how long that’s gonna be; it could be two years.” As we previously reported, Andre compiled and released a soundtrack for his highly successful Cartoon Network series, Class of 3000. The songs were flavored with voices of characters from the show, including music teacher Sunny Bridges (voiced by Andre). No word yet on whether the new Outkast albums will be released as a joint-package, a la 2003’s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. Fingers crossed.

By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Those of you wanting front row tickets to a Beyonce show should maybe think twice. Or maybe not? Two concert-goers were injured at Beyonce’s show in St Louis Sunday night after pyrotechnics meant for the stage, spilled over to the front row. The Beyonce fans were taken to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in STL where they were treated for minor burns. But before they left, Beyonce herself showed up at the hospital to apologize for the mishap, and spend a little bit of time with the fans. “She was just very concerned about the people injured in the audience,” Darryl Williams, head nurse at the hospital, told the Missourian newspaper. “It was unannounced and we kept it very low-key so that she could spend time with them. I just thought it was a great thing for someone of her stature to do.” Williams said that Beyonce kicked it with the fans for about 45 minutes before she had to bounce for the next city on her tour. Is it worth it to get burned to chill with Beyonce?
By Quibian Salazar-Moreno With Fergie blowing up worldwide with her solo efforts and Will.I.Am producing hits for everybody, Black Eyed Pea fans are wondering if this is the end for the group. BEP member Apl.de.ap assures that it is not. "We’re not breaking up," he told the L.A. Daily News. "We’re doing another album and a Pepsi tour in August. We’re the kind of group where we just kept on going. We played wherever we could play. We practiced a lot. We love performing, and it just happened for us. We’re really grateful for that." Not to be left out, Apl also announced that he’s working on a solo album, but don’t expect to be along the lines of Fergie’s or Will’s upcoming project. "Fergie’s album’s incredible. I’m really happy for her. Will has an album too. But I’m working on my solo project as well,” he said. “I incorporated a lot of original Filipino instruments and mixed it up with hip-hop. But we always help each other out even in our side projects."
By: Hot Gossip Gal Word on the street is that Buck and Kim may be tying the knot. I mean personally I can’t see it, but that is the word on the streets kids.
By: Hot Gossip Gal Yup rumor has it that Curtis is not really messing with Ciara like that BUT has his hands on Jessica Alba. Check for Miss Alba on the cover of GQ. Wonder if we gonna have another girl fight to deal with because it is supposed to be going down between the Farrah chick who was in Destiny’s Child for a minute and the most loathed woman in Hip-Hopdom, Superhead. This stems from Superhead kicking it with Weezy and then having the nerve to interview Farrah’s ex trying to get him to dish the dirt on the gal. This was all posted to superheads blog….nasty nasty.
By: Rizoh Mr. West stopped short of dissing rappers who can’t dress well in a recent interview with UK’s Popworld. Mr. West, who moonlights as a fashion editor at Complex magazine, named Lil Wayne and T.I. as two rappers with decent fashion styles. Kanye should know. After all, he’s announced plans to launch his own clothing line, Pastelle, following in the footsteps of Diddy and Jay-Z. But West didn’t approach fashion and designing the same old fashioned way. “I had to learn a lot about clothes,” Kanye told Popworld. “People couldn’t do exactly what it is I wanted to do. Just like with producing and with making my own videos, I had to learn how to do it, so I could present the world with something new and different.”

By Quibian Salazar-Moreno It’s been six years since everyone smoked out to Afroman’s hit “Because I Got High” and little do people know that he’s been through some ups and downs. After releasing his albums “Because I Got High” and “Sell Your Dope”, he became a born-again Christian giving up weed, liquor and women and released the spiritually-tinged album “Afroholic… The Even Better Times” in 2004. That didn’t last to long because just last year, he announced he was worldly once again and is now preparing to drop a new movie and album. The film, “Waiting to Inhale” is a spoof of “Waiting to Exhale” and will obviously feature a bunch of weed and getting high jokes. The movie will have an accompanying album of the same name, which Afroman has already made available for download. "One thing I like about being Afroman is that nobody really cares," he told the Associated Press. "I’m not Paris Hilton or nobody. The benefits of being nobody."
