By: Rizoh Now, we know Prodigy (of Mobb Deep) is a certified trash-talker. Well, P’s basket mouth got the better of him in a recent interview with Allhiphop. The G-Unit rapper made it clear that he dislikes Saigon and every other rapper out there. “I don’t like nobody really. I’m biased. I only like Mobb Deep sh*t. Everybody else could suck my d**k,” Prodigy told Allhiphop awhile ago. As you might suspect, those statements didn’t sit well with Saigon, who has a long-running subliminal feud with Prodigy. Saigon, in his own interview with Hiphopgame.com, said he would rather beat Prodigy like a piñata than haul verbal slugs at him on wax. “I wasn’t mad that he said he didn’t like me,” said Saigon in the interview. “But every real n***a knows you don’t invite another n***a to your d**k. That’s fighting words. You might as well say you want me to punch your face off when I see you. I’m not going to run into the booth and make a Prodigy diss and I would lyrically destroy Prodigy. But if we run into each other and he doesn’t have ten security guards or a pistol around him, I will beat him like a piñata. Just for that “suck my d**k” sh*t.” Saigon also questioned Prodigy’s street credibility. “You can’t be a popular rapper and a gangster out busting your hammer and still be around this long. Nah, that doesn’t make sense. 2pac was like that. He’s dead now.” And rap beefs just keep getting cornier…

By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Even though Eddie Murphy, Jennifer Hudson, and Forest Whitaker are up for Oscars this Sunday, Jesse Jackson isn’t satisfied with what he’s seeing in Hollywood. Back in 1996, Jackson protested the Academy Awards because of the lack of melanin being nominated. Now Jackson wants to remind folks that just because there are a few people of color nominated for Oscars, everything isn’t equal in Hollywood. "While I feel joy for those outstanding performances, my concern is that people will take these as a substitute for progress," Jackson told Daily Variety. "We want to keep the light on unfinished business. It’s really an issue of infrastructure. The voting doesn’t at all reflect the current reality of the population." According to Jackson, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, the folks who vote for the Oscar winners, needs to be expanded to include more African-Americans than the current 110 of 5,830. Jackson is in L.A. this week to begin planning an April conference to face this list of issues, according to Variety: Hosts on many cable networks are nearly all Caucasian, or as Jackson puts it "All day, all night, all white." Minorities have limited access to jobs at major talent agencies. Casting of minority actors remains a problem, Jackson noted, pointing to a UCLA study by Russell Robinson, released in December and showing that found 69 percent of Hollywood roles were reserved for white actors.

By: Rizoh Dreamgirls, which failed to earn a nomination in the most important Oscar category of Best Picture, is now making desperate attempts to saturate headlines with trivial press statements, as the Oscars’ big night draws near. Dreamworks Pictures, the folks behind Dreamgirls, want you to know that the musical is a work of fiction and should be regarded as such. Just in case you didn’t realized this from reading the disclaimer on the movie, Dreamgirls is a work of fiction. This work of fiction also pays homage to Motown. Dreamworks also want you to know that they “used many wonderful accomplishments that belong to the rich Motown history” in the movie. “For any confusion that has resulted from our fictional work, we apologize to Mr. Gordy and all of the incredible people who were a part of that great legacy. It is vital that the public understand that the real Motown story has yet to be told.” Ok, now that’s something we can all agree on.

By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Super producer and emcee El-P recently dropped the first single from his forthcoming album, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead, called “Flyentology.” The track features Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails) and was written after El-P experienced a near-fatal plane crash. The rapper already had a fear of flying, but when he was on a recent flight, one of the engines on the plane exploded and the plane had to make an emergency landing. Afterward, El-P reexamined his feeling on faith and religion. "I realized that my spiritual life exists only while on planes,” El-P said. “During the experience I found myself praying, and I don’t even know how to pray. So this is my song about religion, which I think a lot of people can relate to. It’s my admittance of being an a-hole who thinks he’s better than God until the very moment when I realize that not only am I not, but I really, really want God to love me and take care of me." The video for “Flyentology” will be produced by the folks at Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim and premiere on Comedy Central at a later date. The album, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead, features appearances from The Mars Volta, Aesop Rock, Cage, Cat Power, and others and will drop on March 20.

By: Hot Gossip Gal Yup, Daddy Knowles won’t be happy about this one. Australia has pulled down the promotional posters which show Ms. B smoking a cigarette. The powers that be think that seeing such an ‘influential’ artist as Beyonce looking all glam with a cigarette in hand will encourage young females to do the same. A plain case of peer pressure obviously.
