The KushedGod returns with his latest FreeEP, Cuz I Felt Like It. According to DZA, he was inspired by fellow Jet Life member, Young Roddy, who dropped his debut mixtape over the weekend. The tape features DZA going in over familiar instrumentals such as Action Bronson and Riff Raff’s “Bird on a Wire,” Schoolboy Q’s “Hands on the Wheel” and Azealia Banks’ “212.” Apparently the cover art, minus Smoke DZA, was floating around Tumblr for a minute, but props to DZA for using it because it’s really one of the best covers I’ve seen all year. If you haven’t already, you need to cop Smoke’s 2011 album, Rolling Stoned. DZA is currently working on his upcoming album, Rugby Thompson.
Here’s what DZA had to say about Cuz I Felt Like It:
I was on Nah Right on saturday scrolling thru being a fan, trying to see what’s going on in the music world. Young Roddy dropped a tape on sunday and i got inspired and felt like rappin. So i called my engineer mat cody up and told him to come to the trap. I rapped over some of my friends beats plus a few other tunes i thought was cool, hit 2 of my homies from harlem, and put it out for free cuz i felt like it #Rrrright

A-Trak (DJ, producer, and co-founder of Fool’s Gold) teams with Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J and Detroit rapper Danny Brown on “Piss Test.” This track is the first record off of Fool’s Gold Records’ upcoming compilation, Loosies. Though Juicy J and Danny Brown have very different styles they both fit well on A-Trak’s production.
