In case your wondering who’s the man behind 2Pac’s resurrection, MTV got you covered! Meet Nick Smith of AV Concepts, they interviewed him and here’s what he had to say:
“We worked with Dr. Dre on this and it was Dre’s vision to bring this back to life,” said Nick Smith, president of AV Concepts, the San Diego company that created the hologram. “It was his idea from the very beginning and we worked with him and his camp to utilize the technology to make it come to life. You can take their likenesses and voice and … take people that haven’t done concerts before or perform music they haven’t sung and digitally recreate it.
The Tupac hologram was several months in the planning and took nearly four months to create in a studio and though Smith was not able to reveal the exact price tag for the illusion, he said a comparable one could cost anywhere from $100,000 to more than $400,000 to pull off. “I can’t say how much that event cost, but I can say it’s affordable in the sense that if we had to bring entertainers around world and create concerts across the country, we could put [artists] in every venue in the country,”
According to XXLMag.com, a source, who works closely with Mobb Deep, says that the pair has been having issues since Prodigy’s release from prison last year. Supposedly, 50 Cent offered P a solo deal on account of Hav’s problems with alcohol abuse.
About a year after his death Nate Dogg will join Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg onstage for their headlining set at Coachella on Sunday. A hologram of Nate Dogg performing will reportedly be projected onto the stage. Nate Dogg, as a hologram, will perform several songs alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop, Kurupt, Warren G and Daz Dillinger. Eminem and Wiz Khalifa are also rumored guests for the performance.
Mariah Carey previously used the technology for her European concerts to be able to appear to perform in 5 different places at once. Using the technology for performances from beyond the grave maybe taking it a little too far.
Havoc took to Twitter late last night to air his beef with Prodigy. Instead of speaking of actual gripes he had with Prodigy, Havoc took the time to hurl insults at his former partner-in-crime.
In a lengthy Twitter rant, Havoc questions P’s sexuality, mocks him, and ridicules P as well. According to Devi Dev the rant and outburst is “very real”.

Scott Storch, legendary hip-hop producer and PR-nightmare, is being sued by would-be songstress Treena Ruberg, who claims that Storch’s rampant drug use prevented him from delivering on a $45K production agreement.
TMZ reports according to Ruberg’s lawsuit, back in October 2011 she paid Storch $30,000 up front to produce 6 songs on the singer’s upcoming album, which he agreed to have ready by the end of November, having assured Ruberg he was “cured of his past problem” with drugs. Ruberg claims Storch “continued to have a drug addiction and other personal problems which rendered him incapable of producing any recordings,” and wants her money back, including an additional $70,000 for the out-of-pocket expenses she incurred when Storch failed to deliver up the tracks.
As Storch was just arrested for cocaine possession back in early February, it seems like Ruberg has a pretty solid case….although in Storch’s defense, $30K is nothing on the $30 million he blew back in 2006, and “problem” and “cured” are totally relative anyway, right?
Had no idea fake buttz were prevalent enough to warrant an anthem – been running in the wrong circles, I guess.
During his Grammy party at Paramount Studios last night, announced signing Christina Milian. At the 3:50 mark, he throws a pebble at the throne.
“I met a red-bone, I took the girl home/I asked her what she wanna watch, she said, ‘surely not The Throne’”
