After Havoc’s outburst on twitter against Prodigy a few nights ago. Havoc issued a statement regarding the tweets and clarified that it was not him sending those tweets: “Just getting back into NY after my Easter weekend with family and friends in Jersey. I left my phone at a gas station yesterday evening while on my way to Jersey after a glorious Knick’s game. To all Mobb Deep fans: it’s business as usual! It’s Mobb Deep all day!!! My twitter account @THEREALHAVOC will be down until further notice. The only other real account is @PRODIGYMOBBDEEP. Ignore the rest. One!” But wait there’s more… The Breakfast Club played an audio this morning of Havoc dissing Prodigy yet again! They even had N.O.R.E. chime in on the subject to verify the call… Shortly after that Havoc called in to deny the tweets and the audio as well. All this is up in the air until all the facts come out, what do you guys think??
Havoc took to Twitter late last night to air his beef with Prodigy. Instead of speaking of actual gripes he had with Prodigy, Havoc took the time to hurl insults at his former partner-in-crime. In a lengthy Twitter rant, Havoc questions P’s sexuality, mocks him, and ridicules P as well. According to Devi Dev the rant and outburst is “very real”. Read the outburst in full below. @prodigymobbdeep we got a meeting, lets see if u built to show ur face. prodigy abitch and I’m gonna show it, follow!! ground breaking new. i got niggas in the jail system to to back up that prodigy was fucking homes in jail. prodigy prove me wrong! please. i have a big announcement…. and niggas that was locked wit him know the truth. now i will silence…. and let the jails take care of the rest. thats on everything, i had to smack P ask him. prodigy u pussy! u long island ass bitch. Whitney Houston has died. The cause of death and location are unknown. She was born on Aug. 9, 1963 and lived to be 48. TMZ is reporting Houston died at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. The cause of death is still unknown. She was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. TMZ is also reporting that Houston was found underwater in the bathtub. The singer had been taking Xanax, which were subscribed to her, and drinking heavily before her untimely death. The Los Angeles County Coroner will perform an autopsy today to determine whether or not she died of overdose, drowning, or other causes. The last footage we have of the legendary Whitney Houston doing what we remember her best is said to be this clip of her and singer Kelly Price on stage while she sings “Yes, Jesus Loves Me” during a pre-Grammy party on Thursday night.
Cory Gunz was arrested Saturday afternoon for possession of a firearm in The Bronx. Under New York law, the charge carries a mandatory three-years in prison. His father Peter Gunz spoke to MTV about the arrest: The details are still sketchy, but I can confirm that he was arrested with a firearm yesterday in the Bronx. They caught him around 2p.m. in the afternoon with a loaded gun in his knapsack. It was definitely an illegal search. I spoke to the arresting officer, and so far, what I’m hearing from him is that they got a phone call at the station saying they should ‘look out”. According to [the officer], they didn’t know he was Cory Gunz. They just saw a bunch of kids following him around. What I will say is that the officer that arrested Cory, actually happened to be a cool dude. After arresting Cory, sitting down with him and talking, he felt bad about the situation. At the end of the day, there’s a reason for everything, but at the same time, in New York, it’s mandatory jail time. To go to a precinct and see your son, your junior, in handcuffs, it’s heartbreaking. Anytime you see your child in jail, in the cell, in handcuffs, it’s very hard. He’s walked down some of the same paths that I walked down, but you never want to see your kids go through what you went through. This is Cory’s first offense, but sometimes they like to make an example out of rappers and people with any kind of celebrity to them. Since his arrest, Cory Gunz has been released on bail. This morning, the Young Money member spoke with the NY Daily News on his arrest: “This was a big mistake on my part. I didn’t have any intentions of harming anyone or committing a criminal activity. So many young people look up to me and I need to fight though this. It’s been really hard, really stressful. When the smoke finally clears people will understand what was going on.” If convicted, he can face up to fifteen years in prison.
Iggy elaborated on her deal with Billboard’s The Juice. Currently, Iggy is working on her debut album, The New Classic (slated for June). “It’s a family and it’s a long-term commitment,” Iggy tells The Juice. “People aren’t just asking you to sign for one album. They’re asking you to sign for like three or four, sometimes five and that’s like a marriage.” “I think they [labels] have things that they specialize in. Def Jam, I love. I was super close to signing with them. I think they’re just the best team. I think they’re really passionate about what they do and you can just tell that they’re so hungry over there. But then you look at who they’ve got signed to their label and it kind of makes you be like, ‘I don’t know. Am I going to be the guinea pig here for this?’ I don’t know.”
There’s a new female rapper in town. Harlem native, Azealia Banks announced that she has inked a deal with Universal Music. Much of her popularity is attributed to her record, “212″
Rather than getting the album on January 30, we will now just be getting two tracks on iTunes. Dot Da Genius took to his Twitter to reveal his collaborative Rock album with CuDi will now drop on February 28. Hey Guys, WZRD Update. Me and Cudi have been working on our debut album and it’s almost near completion. We are in the final stages of mastering but we really had to take time and pay attention to the sonics as this is new territory for us. With that being said, we have decided to change the release date. We are looking roughly at Feb 28th. Y’all know how Cudi is’ and I’m the same way. Everything has to be in place and now it is. I know it’s late notice, we were trying to keep the date but got wrapped up making this album perfect for y’all. However for making you guys wait a little longer we will release ‘Brake‘ & ‘Teleport 2 Me‘ on iTunes on the previously said date. AS WELL AS ‘DOSE OF DOPENESS’. Hopefully that will hold you guys over until the album drops!
