Because The Internet, Childish Gambino’s upcoming album, seems like a nod to the minute-rice, 2 fast 2 furious commenting nature of the web today. The former television actor and comedian turned dedicated emcee is doing his best to ingratiate himself to the rap world, while accepting that it may never take to him (or his sense of hipster irony) as much as he might like. All the same, the work is there. Check out his interview with Power 105′s Breakfast Club after the jump. (more…)
OVO’s PARTYNEXTDOOR drops the visual for ”Break From Toronto,” one of the standout cuts from his self-titled debut project. The track samples Miguel’s “Girl With The Tattoo.” Directed by Liam MaCrae.

While Black Hippy, Top Dawg Entertainment and the Empire That Is Kendrick prepare for the tactical onslaught of music the camp will release, Ab-Soul broods. His time is nigh, but The Black Lip Pastor has shown no signs of anxiety. 50 Cent tried out for the role of Huey Lucas in the 2007 film American Gangster (eventually won by Chiwetel Ejiofor, thank God). This is his best try. Hat tip to 2dopeboyz for the link.
You already know what it is with me and the Harlem phenom spitter. Azealia sits with Peter Rosenberg to discuss her process as she readies the next project Broke With Expensive Taste. I’m sure her record will have an incredible impact on the music world, with hip-hop feeling some of its ripples. Video after the jump. (more…)
