They say that when it rains, it pours and nothing could be more correct in the case of Rick Ross. The MIA rapper is now being sued for child support for his two year old son, William Leonard Roberts III (named after his Daddy obviously). The baby momma is also insisting that Ross take a paternity test too to enhance her chances of getting the money she is looking for. Ain’t that something, a two year old child and paternity not being established and it being the Momma instigating the test and its even more something when his legal representation is saying that he has already been contributing towards costs for the child and medical expenses.
Word on the street is that the infamous Live Nation deal that Jay Z was supposed to sign may end up being the deal that never was. The $150 million dollar deal that had media outlets hopping back in April as it would be the biggest deal ever planned for the company who is a spin off of Clear Channel Communications. Talk of the town is that Jay might be headed over to Warner Music Group where his old homie Lyor Cohen is situated.
A man in Jacksonville, Florida had to call the cops the other day, his reason for making the call – because the good folks at Subway failed to make his sandwich how he wanted. The 42 year old man Reginald Peterson got so mad with the servers who had forgotten to put the sauce on, that employees had to lock him out of the store, which encouraged him to go and call 911, not once, but twice (the second time because the cops were taking too damn long to get there).
Yet another female rapper looks like she is heading ‘up north’ for a year after entering into a plea deal after assaulting a waitress last Halloween at one of JDs parties (is it me or do his parties always end in trouble for someone). Dare I say another one bites the dust? Although I am sure Da Brat will be able to handle whatever comes her way while in time out.
Why is it that up and coming rappers often get robbed before they even get their chance to shine? Dap C, out of the UK called on a few associates to help him out with his up and coming track Ma Money. Weezy, Talib and Royce all agreed to feature on the joint produced by London producer Quincey Tones. Anyhow to cut a long story short, the verse Wayne recorded has somehow ended up on a Big Mike mixtape, before Dap C even had a chance to put the track out himself. Where is the love for the unsigned/emerging/new artists man? More to the point who gave Wayne’s verse to Big Mike in the first place. Not cool whoever it was.
Not quite sure if this is for real or not, but word is that Irv Gotti has snatched up Busta after supposedly working out a deal with Dr. Dre to let Bussa Bus out of his contract over at Aftermath/Interscope. The deal between Busta and Irv is a distribution deal which will take Flipmode through to 2014. Do people even look that far into the future today?
Say it isn’t so. But
fake reports are saying that the Nasti Muzik is somehow on the way to selling more units than Tha Carter III. First of all, are the people who are supposed to be tracking this album able to count past ten? A report has surfaced saying that Her Royal Nastiness sold 450,000 copies in the first day on shelves….hmmm yeah ok. Read for yourselves the lengths someone will go to to bring attention to a project that will be lucky to move a 100,00. If Khia does go platinum I will never say a bad word about the chick again and will spend the rest of my days running her fan club :-)))
Why is Deelishis making accusations that Bussa Bus is really on the DL. I guess she knows that 5 mins of fame she secured by having a booty and a spot on a reality TV show is close to up, so she gotta keep relevant somehow. Turns out she was frothing at the mouth and trying to be all coy about it to the author of Hiding in Hip-Hop. Terrance Dean.
Dean a former MTV employee has written a book about being a gay man within the entertainment and Hip-Hop industries and he was in Deelishis’s home town of Detroit promoting the book when she started to spin her web, saying that she knew a couple of things about a ‘rapper’ she used to date. I mean the only reason the finger points to Busta is because she said he had cut off his hair…but I bet there are plenty of rappers on her list. Do we believe her? Or is she a woman who got knocked back?
Miami’s Diamond Princess Trina was allegedly involved in a car crash in Belize yesterday as she traveled from the airport with Denver Nuggets star Kenyon Martin. Both escaped with no injuries. These two have been linked and spotted together around MIA for quite a few months now. Nice to see her over Weezy, but isn’t this dude still married?
Was trick Daddy the one who leaked the pics of Correctional Officer Ross to the net? I doubt it. This story has been around way before the pics surfaced really and even though Trick Daddy who has held it down in MIA for a while may have had his ego dented by Ross’s success as of late, I don’t think Trick would stoop to that level.
What is it with chicks in Hip-Hop? There are very few out there doing it large for the gals and even the ones who are keep messing it up. Both Brooklyn Divas Lil Kim and Foxy Brown have been named in lawsuits filed by publishing house Simon and Schuster. The New York based publishing giant had paid both Kim and Foxy an advance on books which they failed to deliver the manuscripts for.You would think with all that time inside those girls might have put it to good use.
