Luckily, DJ Forever Cold is back once again applying his expert filter to this week’s abundance of fresh releases with the Forever Cold❄️ playlist.
Headlining the 1/29 Forever Cold❄️ playlist are: CJ, Lil Durk, YSL, Brent Faiyaz, and Kai Ca$h.
Kicking things off, one of 2020’s hottest emerging artists, CJ, has followed up his omnipresent “WHOOPTY” anthem with his second official single, “BOP.” As the title suggests, the Staten Island artist has seamlessly continued his hot streak — and it doesn’t sound like he’s going to cool off anytime soon. CJ’s sophomore single also comes equipped with an official music video, inviting fans into the everyday life of the in-demand rapper.
Traveling to The Windy City, Lil Durk has come through with the deluxe version of his highly-praised The Voice album. The augmented edition includes an additional 12-tracks, totaling 28-songs, and features Lil Baby, Pooh Shiesty, and Sydney August. The Lil Baby-assisted “Finesse Out The Gang” has made today’s list.
Heading down south, Young Thug’s YSL imprint has come through with yet another strong posse cut in “GFU.” Helmed by Sheck Wes, Yak Gotti, and Yung Kayo, the Young Stoner Life record continues proving Thug’s astute A&R abilities, as the collection of artists soar on the Taurus production. “GFU” follows their “Take It To Trial” single.
Next up, the new-wave R&B king, Brent Faiyaz, has enlisted Tyler, The Creator and DJ Dahi for his textured new single, “Gravity.” Anchored by Brent’s soulful singing, “Gravity” takes momentary departures from this serene soundscape to tap in with Tyler’s baritone raps to impart an unmistakable dynamism.
Last, but certainly not least, the burgeoning Brooklyn artist Kai Ca$h’s track “Blue” off his recently-released 711 project has been added to today’s list.
