215 Hip Hop Presents “For The Kids” The 2nd Annual Christmas Toy Fund Raiser

      For the second year both 215hiphop.com and the Philly rap group OuterSpace (of the crew Army Of The Pharaohs) return to join forces and raise both money and toys for underprivileged children in Philly. The event is happening downstairs of the Khyber in Old City with a $10 entry fee, or $5 with an un wrapped toy. We then take all the toys to then distribute ourselves with the help of MC Planetary’s (of OuterSpace) brother, who works for Democracia U.S.A. (www.democraciausa.org ) Rafael is able to contact families who have recently been laid off before the holidays, on welfare, or living through extreme poverty, and give them an invitation to receive the toys. All of the artists, DJ’s, and organizers donate there time and receive no payment for any of their involvement for this fundraising event. With the profits of the cover charge we then buy more toys, gift certificate’s(for teenagers), food & drinks to hand out at a local government office in North Philly at 2nd & Leigh. Last year we rose over $3,000 worth of toys and this year we have a goal to reach of over $5,000 worth of toys, and affect as many families as we can!

      In helping both spread the word of the event and performing are Army Of The Pharaohs members: Reef The Lost Cauze & King Magnetic along with local MC Nickelz. And on four turntables throughout the night are Philly party kings: illvibe collective, Cru-Cut, Tactics, and Akshun.
