With the weekend on the horizon, it’s that time of the week to indulge in the bevy of new music. With creativity and productivity seemingly directly-correlating with quarantine, there’s an abyss of fresh releases to sift through. Luckily, DJ Forever Cold is back with another edition of the Forever Cold❄️ playlist, curating the essential tracks from the week.

With established stars and trending GOATs alike coming through with fresh heat, it’s a competitive release day. Competition, however, fosters excellence, as combatants enlist their finest artillery for battle. Today’s Forever Cold❄️ playlist is headlined by: Future, Polo G, Deante’ Hitchcock, Sheff G, REASON, and Seddy Hendrinx.

Kicking things off, Future has come through with his new album, High Off Life. Announced only days ago, Future’s eighth studio album is yet another bright spot in his decorated collection — a catalogue that boats dozens of projects in total. Anchored by singles “Life Is Good” featuring Drake (and the DaBaby- and Lil Baby-assisted remix), “Last Name” featuring Lil Durk, and “100 Shooters” featuring Meek Mill and Doe Boy, High Off Life is a feature-heavy endeavor — with other guest verses including Travis Scottt, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, NBA YoungBoy — that still allows Future to demonstrate his palpable solo appeal.

From a certified great to a burgeoning GOAT, Polo G has delivered his sophomore album, THE GOAT. The successor to his acclaimed debut, Die A Legend, the Chicago standout’s new LP builds upon the impressive foundation he’s been laying over the past couple of years; no, there is no sophomore slump for this guy. Joining Polo on this 16-track adventure is the late Juice WRLD, Mustard, Lil Baby, Stunna 4 Vegas, NLE Choppa, and BJ The Chicago Kid.

Next up, Deante’ Hitchcock — the cerebral rapper with a heightened musical sensibility — came through on Wednesday (May 13th) with his debut album, BETTER. Featuring JID, 6LACK, Miguel, Young Nudy, and more, BETTER is a strong official introduction for the ascending Atlanta artist. His track with Young Nudy, “Attitude,” has been added to the Forever Cold❄️ playlist.

Fellow Atlanta rising prospect, Seddy Hendrinx, has also released a new project: his six-track EP, B.H.D. (Black Hearted Demon). Marketed by the OMB Peezy-assisted lead single, the remaining five-tracks showcase Seddy’s penchant for imparting woozy vibes by weaving captivating melodics into textured instrumentals.

Heading up north, Brooklyn’s quickly-rising Sheff G has released his latest project, One and Only. The follow-up to his 2019 The Unluccy Luccy Kid, Sheff G’s newest endeavor continues demonstrating his grasp on the burgeoning Brooklyn Drill scene, and how he’s an integral member to the movement. His track “Weight On Me” featuring Sleepy Hallow is on the list.

Taking a trip out west, Top Dawg Entertainment’s REASON and ScHoolboy Q have delivered their authoritative collab, “Pop Shit.” While it’s runtime is sub three-minutes, it’s a dense single that packs a weighty punch.

Other artists to make the 5/15 Forever Cold❄️ playlist are: slowthai, Migos, G Herbo, Trippie Redd & PartyNextDoor, Tory Lanez, among others.
