Welcome back to another edition of the Forever Cold❄️ playlist — the authority in providing the hottest source for new hip-hop from established stars to hungry newcomers. As always, DJ Forever Cold has applied his expert filter to this week’s drops to curate another necessary collection of tracks that will find their way into your rotation.

It’s a loaded week for new music, seeing releases from a wide array of talent. But no matter the disparity in popularity, the one constant is that each track to make this week’s list is a heater. Headlining the 8/28 Forever Cold❄️ playlist are: Cordae and Roddy Ricch, Big Sean and Nipsey Hussle, Internet Money, and Black Thought.

Since officially dropping the “YBN” from his moniker, quickly following the group’s official disbandment, Cordae is intent on continuing his promising solo career without the trio who helped propel him to notoriety. The Grammy-nominated artist did so in remarkable fashion, as he tapped Roddy Ricch for his first 2020 single, “Gifted,” which also featured a Lyrical Lemonade music video; it is his first piece of new music since his acclaimed debut LP, The Lost Boy. “Gifted” is a triumphant return for Cordae, and sets the stage for his blossoming solo chapter.

Next up, we have another awesome collaboration, as Big Sean has released his new record, “Deep Reverence,” which includes a posthumous verse from the beloved Nipsey Hussle. The Big Sean x Nip link-up showcases their respective talents while simultaneously demonstrating their impressive ability to work well together. It’s a bittersweet song, to be honest; it’s a fresh reminder of Nipsey’s excellence, but reinforces the reality of his untimely passing. Rest easy, Neighborhood Nip.

Keeping the theme of dope joint efforts going, the iconic Black Thought has enlisted an all-star line-up for his new track, “Good Morning,” which features Pusha T, Killer Mike, and Swizz Beatz. On-brand for Black Thought, and the entire track’s ensemble, “Good Morning” is a politically-charged record that begs the questions many are afraid to ask. He makes it a point to eviscerate what’s comfortable, to highlight what’s necessary. As Charlamagne Tha God once said about JAY Z’s 4:44 album, this offering is nutritious.

Last but not least, record label and producer collective, Internet Money, has come through with their highly-anticipated album, B4 The Storm. Loaded with features, ranging from Juice WRLD to Keving Gates, the new Internet Money LP is a testament to the ability to attract preeminent artists — and deliver with a polished product. Their tracks “Really Redd” featuring Trippie Redd, Lil Keed, Young Nudy and “Blast Off” featuring Juice WRLD and Trippie Redd have made this week’s list.

Other artists to be included in this week’s Forever Cold❄️ playlist are: Ty Dolla $ign, Nicki Minaj, Yung Bleu, Quando Rondo, Octavian, YG, Day Sulan, The Weeknd, Conway, Yo Gotti, Wifisfuneral, among others.
