With the passing of Labor Day weekend, the summer is in the rearview. So long to the cookouts, the chilled vibes, and the respite from our stressful lives. But it’s not all doom and gloom — there’s still a plethora of music flooding the masses. As always, DJ Forever Cold is here to sift through the bountiful releases to present to you the most necessary picks.

Welcome to the 9/11 Forever Cold❄️ edition. This week’s playlist is headlined by: YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Conway, Trippie Redd, and T.I..

Kicking the doors off the hinges, NBA YoungBoy has come through with his highly-anticipated sophomore studio album, TOP. Marketed by such singles as “Kacey Talk” and the Snoop Dogg-assisted “Callin,” YoungBoy’s latest album effort finds the young MC continuing to grapple with the palpable pain he’s dealt with throughout his life, and the corrective measures he’s taken — the good, the bad, and everything in between. His tracks “My Window” featuring Lil Wayne and “Drug Addiction” have been included in this week’s list.

Next up, Buffalo’s Conway has followed-up his acclaimed No One Mourns The Wicked project with another clamored-for album, From King To A GOD. The Griselda MC’s third project of the year, FKTAG not only proves that Conway is as prolific as any other rapper out today, but his quantity doesn’t cannibalize his quality — not by a long shot. Each track possesses unique storytelling qualities that paint Conway as one of his generation’s finest lyricists. The Freddie Gibbs-assisted “Seen Everything But Jesus,” the Armani Caesar-assted “Anza,” and “Spurs 3” with Benny The Butcher and Westside Gunn have made this week’s list.

Heading out to the midwest, Ohio’s Trippie Redd has extended a peace treaty between the old school and new wave, as he’s linked with the legendary Busta Rhymes on “I Got You.” By virtue of the generational collaboration, combination of melodics and straight bars, the new Trippie single is a sonic and hip-hop medley. As if Busta’s presence was enough of an old school injection into the present day, “I Got You” also samples Mariah Carey’s iconic “I Know What You Want.”

Maintaining the theme of the seasoned kings and new royalty, T.I. has tapped fellow Atlanta standout, Young Thug, on his new single, “Ring.”

Other artists to make this week’s Forever Cold❄️ list include: Spillage Village, Action Bronson, Drako, Comethazine, Maeta, Buddy, Ludacris, Chance The Rapper, YBN Nahmir, among others.
