Courts have ordered Weezy and Cash Money to turn over all royalty records for his Carter III project to figure out just how much folk singer Karma-Ann Swanepoel has missed out since Weezy used a sample of her song Once on his track I Feel Like Dying to promote himself and Tha Carter III. U.S. Magistrate Daniel Knowles III requested the paperwork from the label yesterday in a US court even though the cut didn’t actually make the album. Weezy performed the track and allowed fans to download the track for free from his website which according to music publishing company Urband & Lazar, which published “Once,” is a copyright infringement.
I guess Magistrate Knowles has just had enough of Weezy failing to seek permission to use certain samples as this isnt the first time and I doubt it will be the last.

fuck copyright infringement. he’s gave it for free anyway. who cares! I even think that what he’s doing is like advertising for free.
i agree. he didn’t earn anything from that sample.
