Charles Hamilton…Go Away!

For those who regularly go to the site, you should know I’m not a Charles Hamilton fan.  Well Interscope dropped him, and it appeared as if we were in the clear from having to deal with this kid.  I didn’t expect him to pack up his sonic t-shirts and pink headphones and just go away.  I just thought he would become one of those bum a$$ rappers that refuse to give up rapping even though no one cares about them.  But recently there was tweet from Lupe Fiasco saying that Charles was part of the “All City Chess Club” made up of Diggy Simmons, Lupe, The Cool Kids, Asher Roth, J. Cole, Blu, Wale, B.o.B & Charles.  Now I doubt this super group will ever materialize, so I kind of brushed it off.

Then last night I hit up NR to see that he has dropped a new single that was produced by hitmaker Jim Jonsin.  Apparently he has a new “situation”.  Well it’s no secret that no one is supporting music, especially when a huge corporation is backing an artist.  So the labels have started to sign artists while making them appear to be independent.  And based off of who is in the “All City Chess Club”, it’s got Lyor Cohen, who runs Warner Bros, written all over it.  Especially considering that they have their poster boy producer working with Mr. Hamilton I’m going to go out on a ledge and say he signed to either Warner Bros, or one of their imprints.

While I think this beat is absolute fire, I have a hard time believing that those Harlem cats are going to start rocking gouchos.  Especially if Charles Hamilton is the one telling them too.  The boss man once taught me an important A&R lesson to see if an artist has the capability to succeed.  Besides the fact I don’t think Charles Hamilton is a good rapper it comes down to two things.  Do guys want to be like Charles Hamilton?  Do girls want to be with Charles Hamilton?  While I could be wrong, my answer to both those questions is a resounding, No!  So good look trying to make money off this f*ckboy Lyor.  I think you might have made a bad investment.
