A$AP Rocky Proposes to Rihanna in Music Video for His New Single “D.M.B.”

The New York-native takes us on a psychedelic journey through his hometown.

With his first official release of the year, A$AP Rocky celebrates his newfound love with Rihanna, while showing listeners the qualities that make him such a special artist. The track starts off with the old-school Southern swing that A$AP adapted in his earlier music, using thumping drums, light cowbells, and filtered vocals before transitioning into a lighter, more melodic section. It might be early to call it a masterpiece, but that’s the feeling it generates.

Directed by Rocky himself, the video takes viewers through wholesome moments of his relationship with Rihanna, culminating in a proposal using a custom “Marry Me?” that Rocky has encrusted on his teeth. If this song and video are any sign of what’s to come on Rocky’s next album, we are certainly in for a treat.
