SandrasaysThose who are waiting and Watch[ing] The Throne won’t have to wait much longer for the release of Kanye West and Jay-Z’s album. According to a Vibe interview with producer and engineer Young Guru says, “Right now, I’m really trying to get Jay and Kanye to hurry up and finish this Watch The Throne album because the world needs to hear it…It just needs little tweaks and things like that. But the core of the album is finished.”
Young Guru doesn’t go into detail about any additional collaborators on the album, but he did talk about Kanye’s process with making beats and how creatively the album is coming together.
Jay-Z is also planning on another solo album after this star-studded collaboration. Young Guru talks about Jay’s ideas and concepts for the next album, “So this next idea— when you hear this title — the world is going to say ‘why didn’t Jay think of that for the first album.’ The title and concept just fits in perfectly. It’s so simple, but yet so elegant at the same time. [Jay] can’t stop, it’s in his blood.”
