On-brand for the beautiful songstress, Ari Lennox has forgone the traditional industry release day by dropping her new project, Shea Butter Baby, today, Tuesday, May 7th.

Announced a couple of weeks ago — and promoted by such singles as the eponymous track, “Up Late,” and “Whipped Cream” — Ari’s newest project is a soulful escape into the Dreamville signee’s complex mind. Finding comfort in the neo-soul sound, Shea Butter Baby will melt into your ear canals as the gentle, enchanting vocals cascade out of your headphones.

Coming in at 12-tracks, spanning 44-minutes, Lennox’s debut studio album exclusively features fellow Dreamville artists, JID and J. Cole, allowing her the proper breathing room to demonstrate the years of diligence and persistence that have led to official rookie studio release.

Shea Butter Baby follows Ari’s 2016 mixtape, Pho.
