New Music: Lil Bibby – “For The Low (Pt. 2)” Feat. Wiz Khalifa & Juicy J

12 years ago view-show 1,025,937

Lil Bibby is a young kid with a grown gruff voice. This makes it seem like his words have more authority than they do. So then, he can get away with saying brash sh*t like "f*ck is you saying? what is you doin? why is you playin?" and it sounds like more than a juvenile threat. This is the ethos of his latest mixtape "Free Crack". Check "For The Low" after the jump.

Looks Like Hip-Hop Won The VMAs For All Time

Bey-Z rises from the rubble unscathed. Amber Rose pulls a J-Lo with her almost-not-a-dress. Nicki pulls her dress together by seams. RiFF RaFF, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift play their positions clumsily and look really and truly not cool bruh. Check the pics and videos after the jump.

New Music: Jonwayne – “World Championship Karate Champion” Feat. Quelle Chris & Zeroh

12 years ago view-show 220,374

"Faded like Juvenile and BG." Those quirky guys at Mello Music Group bring out the dust and sitcom campy humor on this redundantly named track. Quelle intros the wacky world with goonish 70s swaggering and Jonwayne finesses his own instrumental nicely. Zeroh closes cleverly with some abrupt breaks that fully engage the lulling, funky bass line. Check it out after the jump.

New Music: P Reign – “DnF” Feat. Drake & Future

12 years ago view-show 612,711

Toronto rapper P Reign got that Drake upgrade but it comes on a run of Drakeovers that risk blurring into each other with his signatures dappled all over them. Nevermind the risk of fatigue, he delivers the scene-stealer verse, complete with the real mentions of names and locales from his kiss-and-tell adventures. On a joint called "Drunk and F*ck" after the jump.

New Music: Childish Gambino – “Candler Road”

12 years ago view-show 2,988,513

This seems like both a Drake homage and a Drake diss record. When Gambino is at his best he sounds like a Comeback Season era Aubrey. But then these subliminal mentions of "light-skin n*ggas" hint at something more competitive. All told, this is a good song. Listen after the jump.

New Music: Katy Perry – “This Is How We Do” Feat. RiFF RaFF

Rap jester RiFF RaFF and acts like him are a mainstream mainstay. What they mean is not as important as what they say or what they're symbols for: products. His guest spot here would be as effective on a top 100 country song or a Miley Cyrus banger. Katy Perry is also a function of the track she's on, but not much without it.

Video: Juicy J – “Low” – Nicki Minaj, Lil Bibby & Young Thug

On "Low" Lil Bibby makes some audacious claims, Nicki puts her pelvis on something, and Juicy J sips. Young Thug croaks and howls into a void of a song. In other words, business as usual. The video is a little less than the sum of these parts somehow, but we can still get our dose of Minaj. Watch it after the jump.

New Music: Lauryn Hill – “Black Rage”

12 years ago view-show 465,300

Lauryn is nothing if not a poignant social writer. Her "Black Rage" is evident throughout her catalog and it works to good effect, producing melodic and important tropes. Though the sound is more punk, dissonant now but no less critical. Check it after the jump.

Video: Action Bronson – “Easy Rider”

Action plays West-bound outlaw in his biker savage "Easy Rider." It preens and wanders like Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas over early Wu Tang flows. This is truly his best video, which is hard to say given how creative joints like "Strictly For My Jeeps" are in video form. Check the Harley brigade after the jump.
