So then, he can get away with saying brash sh*t like "f*ck is you saying? what is you doin? why is you playin?" and it sounds like more than a juvenile threat. Quelle intros the wacky world with goonish 70s swaggering and Jonwayne finesses his own instrumental nicely. Toronto rapper P Reign got that Drake upgrade but it comes on a run of Drakeovers that risk blurring into each other with his signatures dappled all over them. Nevermind the risk of fatigue, he delivers the scene-stealer verse, complete with the real mentions of names and locales from his kiss-and-tell adventures. This seems like both a Drake homage and a Drake diss record. When Gambino is at his best he sounds like a Comeback Season era Aubrey. But then these subliminal mentions of "light-skin n*ggas" hint at something more competitive. All told, this is a good song. Listen after the jump.

Rap jester RiFF RaFF and acts like him are a mainstream mainstay. What they mean is not as important as what they say or what they're symbols for: products. His guest spot here would be as effective on a top 100 country song or a Miley Cyrus banger. Katy Perry is also a function of the track she's on, but not much without it.

Lauryn is nothing if not a poignant social writer. Her "Black Rage" is evident throughout her catalog and it works to good effect, producing melodic and important tropes. Though the sound is more punk, dissonant now but no less critical. Check it after the jump.
