Featuring Megan Thee Stallion, Reason, and more.

It’s that special time of the week: the light at the end of the work tunnel is within sight; weekend plans are being made; and there’s a bevy of new music to soundtrack said activities. Welcome back to “New Music Friday.” Today’s edition is a little light on the albums, but heavy on the singles: Megan Thee Stallion, Reason, and more have come through with fresh loosies.

Originally teased one-week ago, Hot Girl Meg has come through with her first solo single of 2020, “B.I.T.CH.” The boat-driving sensation announced the track by posting its intriguing cover art — a black-and-red-colored picture of a rottweiler — to her Instagram, raising interest and hope for an impending Meg Thee Stallion album, Suga. “B.I.T.C.H.” delivers on the hype by sampling Tupac’s “Rather Be Ya Nigga” from his fourth album, All Eyez On Me

Joining Meg is the Carson, CA sensation, Reason. Fresh off his features for the deluxe Revenge of the Dreamers III album, TDE’s own is back with his own inaugural 2020 single, “Show Stop.” Produced by !llmind and The 90’s, with additional vocals from the Kendrick, the new Reason is doused in Cali vibes, finding the ascending MC in familiar territory to expel his truths.

Rounding out today’s slate of singles is an ensemble effort in the name of the Sonic The Hedgehog soundtrack: Wiz Khalifa, Lil Yachty, Ty Dolla $ign, and Sueco The Child have linked up for “Speed Me Up.”
