The temperature has dipped into the 30s on the east coast, but we all know the remedy for the impending winter’s icy touch: some fresh heat. For today’s “New Music Friday,” we’ve got tons of dope drops to warm us up and stave off the chilling weather. From Dave East to Clams Casino, it’s an eclectic, deep day for new music.

The prolific musical bridge that is Dave East is no newcomer. Still, despite having released 14 mixtapes, the Harlem MC hasn’t delivered a debut studio album — until now. Today, East comes through with his first official LP with Survival.

A proper introduction to the complex lyricist who manages to still trend with younger audiences, Survival is a lesson in cohesive storytelling; it is an astute conceptual album. Survival is exactly what the title suggests: East’s journey from the pits of Harlem to the lap of luxury; a vivid detailing of his trials and tribulations, his mishaps and fortunes, all framed through an honest lens.

Joining Dave East on Survival is a diverse artist collection, reflecting his own diverse artistic pallet: Nas, Fabolous, Lil Baby, Gunna, Max B, Ty Dolla $ign, and more.

Next up, Lil Mosey, the teenage Seattle sensation, follows up his 2019 XXL Freshman honor with his new project, Certified Hitmaker. A 14-track effort, Mosey’s second studio LP includes features from Chris Brown, Trippie Redd, Gunna, and AJ Tracey.

Following Lil Mosey is the ethereal producer, Clams Casino, with his new instrumental album, Moon Trip Radio.

Additionally, FKA twigs has come through with MAGDALENE, and Jacquees has dropped off his King of R&B project.
