21 continues his artistic growth.

21 Savage’s i am > i was painted the Atlanta anti-hero as more than just a man with a harrowing adolescence who channels that pain into deadpan flows; it confirmed his self-possession and proved how he’s one of his generation’s most impressive, contemplative writers and music makers. The album’s high thread count quality is established from the beginning with the palatable “a lot” featuring J. Cole.

Today, February 1st, 21 and Cole have teamed up to deliver the song’s gripping video, directed by Aisultan Seitov.

Aptly reflecting the song’s message of how much 21 has experienced–the good and the bad–throughout his explosive rise, the video endearingly contextualizes the duality explored in the song: there is a lot to celebrate, but just as much to mourn. From celebrating family at an extravagant Atlanta mansion to burying loved ones, the emotional duplicity told in the “a lot” video showcases an artistically-matured 21 Savage who is looking to leverage his ascending star for cemented greatness–as one who is continuing to hone his craft while coming into his own.

In addition to Cole’s cameo, one that finds him celebrating with 21 and family at said mansion, Savage end the video on an unreleased verse, neatly tying up the song and visual.
