Featuring Jay Electronica, Lil Uzi Vert, Rich The Kid, and more.

With the coronavirus pandemic causing mass hysteria, people need new music to divert these fears. Luckily, this week’s edition of “New Music Friday” is one of the most loaded ones in recent memory. Jay Electronica, Lil Uzi Vert, Rich The Kid, Don Toliver, Jack Harlow, and Blueface have come through with projects.

It’s finally happened: the man, the myth, the legend, Jay Electronica has come through with his debut studio album, A Written Testimony.

Easily one of hip-hop’s most enigmatic MCs, Jay Electronica has managed to cultivate an incredibly loyal cult fanbase without so much as releasing a body of work in excess of five-tracks (Act I: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge)). But today, March 13th, this revered musician has blessed the music community with his official introduction.

Created in concert with JAY-Z, A Written Testimony is a 13-track offering that features Hov’s fingerprints throughout, and makes way for features from Travis Scott and The-Dream. It is released through Roc Nation.

The stylistic antithesis to Jay Electronica, Lil Uzi Vert has gone from suffocating hiatus to prolific. Following the release of his incredibly-anticipated Eternal Atake last week, Uzi has come through today with the project’s deluxe version, which double as LUV Vs. The World 2

Uzi’s new album features 14 additional tracks, including features from Young Thug, Gunna, Chief Keef, 21 Savage, Lil Durk, Young Nudy, and NV.

Next up, Rich The Kid has blessed fans with his third studio album, BOSSMAN. Demonstrating artistic growth without straying from his roots, the new RTK LP shows Rich taking creative risk with production, like on the album-opener, “Far From You,” but still manages to pack-in the heaters (i.e. “Stuck Together” featuring Lil Baby).

BOSSMAN comes in at 19-tracks, and features DaBaby, Lil Baby, Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, Lil Tjay, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Quavo, and London On Da Track.

Following RTK is Don Toliver with his debut studio LP, Heaven Or Hell. The Cactus Jack signee has long been operating as an accessory artist, evidenced by standout features on Travis Scott’s JACKBOYS ensemble project, and is now fully ready for his spotlight moment.

Heaven Or Hell is a 12-track effort that features Travis Scott, Kaash Paige, Offset, Quavo, and Sheck Wes.

Capitalizing on the success of his standout single, “WHATS POPPIN,” the quickly-rising Jack Harlow has released a seven-track EP, Sweet Action.

Last but certainly not least, the Famous Cryp himself, Blueface, has also unleashed his debut studio album, Find The Beat. Anchored by singles “Obama” featuring DaBaby and “Holy Moly” featuring NLE Choppa, Find The Beat is a feature-heavy projects that also includes Jeremih, Gunna, Lil Baby, Polo G, Ambjaay, Stunna 4 Vega, and YBN Nahmir.

Yes, it’s a fantastic day to be a hip-hop head.
