There’s no dancing around the fact that Memorial Day Weekend in quarantine just feels differently. It’s part of this aggravating reality we live in, and it means adjusting to this new normal. However, despite all of this uncertainty, one constant that has remained is that each Friday, an influx of great music hits the internet. Once again, DJ Forever Cold is here applying an expert lens to the abundance of drops to curate an updated version of the Forever Cold❄️ playlist, comprised of the most essential tracks.

This week’s edition is loaded with some of today’s hottest acts, making for a feeding-frenzy of new additions to throw into the rotation. But in the name of musical eclecticism, we’ve also included a collection of tracks from ascending artists who deserve your attention. Headlining today’s Forever Cold❄️ playlist are: Gunna, Key Glock, Migos, OMB Peezy, Young M.A, and Bino Rideaux.

One of the hottest artists in the industry right now, Gunna has come through with his clamored-for new album, WUNNA. Marketed by the eponymous single and ensuing video, Gunna’s sophomore studio LP is an 18-track album that features Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, Young Thug, and Travis Scott; a majority of the production is handled by Turbo and Wheezy. “WUNNA,” “COOLER THAN A BITCH,” “BLINDFOLD”, and “TOP FLOOR” have been added to this week’s playlist.

Next up, fellow southern in-demand artist Key Glock has come through with a featureless 15-track project, Son Of A Gun. This new mixtape follows the Memphis standout’s acclaimed album, Yellow Tape, which was released earlier this year. The tracks “One Day” and “Rich Blessed N Savage” have been added to the list.

Easily one of the most recognizable names in hip-hop (and music at large), Migos keep their streak of new singles going with the YoungBoy Never Broke Again-assisted “Need It.” This new track joins their other recently-released singles “Racks 2 Skinny” and “Taco Tuesday” — all of which are leading towards their anticipated Culture III album, expected to arrive soon.

It’s a big day for the south, as not only the aforementioned heavy weights came through with drops, but Alabama’s OMB Peezy also recently dropped a new EP, In The Meantime. The seven-track tape was released through 300 Entertainment. The EP’s intro track, “Reminder,” has proudly made this week’s list.

Heading up north, Young M.A has also come through with an EP today, Red Flu. This new tape follows her 2019 album, Herstory in the Making. The Brooklyn rapper’s track “Trap or Cap” has been added to the playlist.

Going out west, the quickly-rising Bino Rideaux dropped his new project, OUTSIDE, via Def Jam. The former Nipsey Hussle collaborator’s album features Fredo Bang, Mozzy, Blxst, and Ty Dolla $ign. We’ve included the Ty joint effort on this week’s playlist from the South Central artist.

Others to make this week’s list are: Doja Cat, Teyana Taylor, DessDior, Franky Hill, and IDK.
