One of Hip Hop’s brightest emerging talents doesn’t subscribe to the adopted success formula—traditional trap beats, icy jewelry talk, or superficial female conquests. No, he walks a different path—one that is littered with integrity. While some might have difficulty time pronouncing his name, most enjoy his melodic, earworm music. And for good reason: simply, it’s that unique, and it’s that transcendent.
The East Atlanta native—who’s sound is anything but traditional Atlanta trap music—stunned the music world in late 2016 with his album debut, FREE 6LACK. Borrowing a similar trap soul aesthetic ostensibly invented by Toronto’s Bryson Tiller, 6LACK has injected his own soulful, experimental flavor into this blossoming sub-genre to soften Tiller’s unrefined edges. With hits like “PRBLMS”, “EX CALLING”, and “NEVER KNOW” enjoying eight-figure Spotify streams, it’s clear that 6LACK’s music has gone from esoteric to in-demand. Now, the eccentric artist is giving his fans what we’ve been begging for: an international tour.
Starting his inaugural headlining endeavor in San Diego on October 7th, the platinum-selling R&B crooner will play 28-shows spanning two countries—two shows will occur in Australia (Sydney and Melbourne). Singer Sabrina Claudio will be opening up as well.
