Taking inspiration from the iconic ’90s cartoon, Rugrats.

Paying homage is a hip-hop trope that is vital for the genre’s progression. Applying bits and pieces from your idols’ style into your craft aids artistic advancement. Typically, however, that inspiration comes from other artists. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie takes his influence from other sources–namely, the ‘90s hit cartoon, Rugrats.

On his newest song, “Right Moves”, A Boogie interpolates the iconic children’s show theme song into his track’s production, making for a uniquely textured product. The result is an upbeat, wavy offering that aptly structures Boogie’s dynamic vocal offering. The recognizable theme song notes blend perfectly with the trap-styled main instrumental to create a distinct, different song.
