There’s a new baby on the block.

The “Baby” moniker has supplanted “Lil” as the go-to rapper name. Pioneered by veteran Birdman and co-opted by today’s superstars like DaBaby and Lil Baby, the in-demand title has taken the game by storm. One of the newer artists to incorporate “Baby” into his pseudonym is the burgeoning Baby Keem, who came through with a new joint today, “Invented It.”

Co-signed by CardoGotWings and members of TDE — he has credits on ScHoolboy Q’s “Numb Numb Juice, Jay Rock’s Redemption, and the acclaimed Black Panther Album — Baby Keem is quietly, but surely, carving his lane. Oh, and he also got Shia LaBeouf to direct a video for his track, “Gang Activities,” off of his 2018 EP, The Sound of Bad Habit.
