Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs announced a deal with reggae/dancehall label VP Records to market and distribute dancehall artist Elephant Man. Elephant Man made some noise a couple of years back with his it “Pon Di River” and the subsequent remix that featured the Ying Yang Twins, Lil Jon and Twista.

"Elephant Man is one the greatest entertainers in his genre of music,” Diddy said. “When I saw him at Madison Square Garden ripping down the stage, I knew that he was the one. He will be a great addition to our team."

Elephant Man’s first album under the new deal is set to drop in Spring 2007 and will feature contributions from Diddy, Cassie, Rhianna, Busta Rhymes, Shaggy, Mya and Lil Jon. In addition, the dancehall star will be an opening act on Diddy’s national “Press Play” Tour when it launches in February 2007.

"Ya know we are excited to work with P. Diddy, the vibes are there, and with this combo we are gonna take dancehall to another level,” Elephant Man said. “I’m looking forward to dropping (the album) and the promotion, cuz Diddy is creative, and with him and the Energy God together … It’s gonna be madness!"
