Nice to see so many Hip-Hop folks in attendance at this years BET Hip-Hop Awards down in ATL. Shame Katt Williams couldn’t make it to host the event like he has for the last two years but word on the street is that Mr. Williams was arrested prior to the event and therefore had to pass the honors over to T-Pain who really does look good in purple.
Lil Wayne of course was the biggest winner of the night, well when he was nominated for 12 awards you would hope he would be victorious. And DJ Khaled got a win too for his collaborative effort I’m So Hood..well with the line up he had on that joint you would hope he would get the nod in that category.
To watch the show and see all the winners revealed you can tune in to BET on Thursday at 8 and watch the show. There were performances from Luda, TI, Ice Cube, Pharrell and many more plus the Females in Hip-Hop segment which featured some of the top femcees to bless the mic.
In other related news, there was a scuffle involving Dipset’s Jim Jones and Juelz Santana and some unknown male on the set of a video shoot. Some guy ran from the shoot and was then beat up by members of the entourage accompanying the Dips and possibly the rappers themselves because as soon as the beating was over, Julez and Jimmy were whisked away by their security.
Also Young Buck and 50 at the same event? I heard Buck was at the Awards as was his once label boss who was looking very dapper in his suit. Did I miss something? Or was I misinformed and the two were no where near each other?
