“Somewhere In Paradise”, released in 2015.

The continued revelations regarding R. Kelly’s disturbing transgressions–courtesy of the Lifetime documentary, Surviving R. Kelly–have caused previous collaborators and other respected industry members to distance themselves. Joining Lady Gaga and Celine Dion, Chance the Rapper has removed his track with Kelly, “Somewhere In Paradise”.

The track–released in 2015, which also features fellow Chicagoan and frequent musical partner for Chance, Jeremih–is ironically a cheery, relatively infectious song that seems to impart happiness. In an interview with Jamilah Lemieux, Chance said, “making a song with R. Kelly was a mistake.”

As Kelly awaits legal retribution, it seems like Kelly’s life is continuing to go south in the wake of this revelatory documentary.
