dwadeAccording to Miami Heat owner Mickey Arison, Dwyane Wade will remain a member of the Heat after this season.  Although he is a pending free agent, and he has expressed interest in testing out the free agency waters, Arison is confident that Wade‘s comfort in Miami, their ability to offer him a max contract with an extra year / $30M, and their ability to take on another max contract under the salary cap, makes Miami the best destination for any free agent in 2010, let alone Wade who is already an institution in the South Beach area.  Below are some quotes from Arison‘s interview about Wade:

“I have every indication from Dwyane this is where he wants to be…He loves Miami. He’d like to spend his whole career [here]. But the reality is, I don’t have a signature on a contract. Obviously, we talked about an extension this summer. I was disappointed that we couldn’t come to an agreement, but that was Dwyane‘s right. He’s worked hard to have his own flexibility…He’ll make the decision next summer, but obviously, I’m very hopeful. … And as you know, we can pay him more money than anybody. So financially, it’s not going to be an issue.”
