Let’s go!

2019’s rapper of the year, DaBaby, was anointed this status thanks to releasing two standout albums, Baby On Baby and KIRK. With the former (his debut) launching DaBaby to mainstream success, thanks in part to his 2x Platinum “Suge” single, the latter reinforced his hit-making ability while deepening his artistry with the introspective and soulful album-opener, “INTRO.” Now, DaBaby is keen on taking over another year, as he’s recently announced his third album, Blame It On Baby, will drop this Friday (April 17th).

Yesterday (April 14th), the Carolina rapper began fanning rumor flames by cryptically posting a presumed album cover of himself in fashionable quarantine garb: a pastel camo vest, matching wave cap, and a standard surgical mask. And while it was captioned with, “BLAME IT ON BABY. THIS FRIDAY.,” it wasn’t quite certain if this would be an album or single.

However, he confirmed that in fact it will be an LP with a successive IG video post: a comedic album trailer showing various people blaming DaBaby for a variety of issues, dovetailed with a song snippet and “4.17.20” under the aforementioned cover art.

So far, DaBaby’s lone musical preview of Blame It On Baby is from his “Find My Way” single — a track showing the 28-year-old artist’s range and ear for varying melodies. Debunking the myth of his singular flow, “Find My Way” generated a wealth of excitement and curiosity for his new music.

This Friday, that anticipation will be quelled with the release of Blame It On Baby.
