Well not quite, but NME issued an official press release on behalf of Dr. Dre today, stating that Detox will inevitably be released in February.  Confirmed guests include Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Akon, Jay-Z, La Roux and Game.  While the album most certainly won’t live up to its hype due to its nearly ten year delay for ‘perfection,’ it could probably drop tomorrow and go platinum within a two week period.   I’m sort of disappointed with the guest list thus far, and I hope that the West Coast and DPG will receive recognition on the long awaited album.  Who knows, maybe Kendrick Lamar will show up for the LP.

Earlier this week, Dre released the first official single from Detox, entitled “Kush,” featuring Snoop Dogg and Akon, which had a modernized version of the Doctor’s signature sound.  MTV is already dubbing it one of the best weed related songs of all time.  Let’s hope that “Under Pressure” and “I Need A Doctor” don’t make the cut.  If you want to know my prediction, Detox will get pushed back once again.  I’ll believe it when I hear it…
