Drake Releases ‘Scorpion’

It’s Drizzy season.

Well, after much anticipation, rumors, controversies, and the rest of the formulaic Drake marketing strategies, Scorpion has finally arrived. Coming in at a two-sided, 25-track album, Scorpion is a classic blending of Drake’s rap & R&B aesthetic, with each style supporting one another, rather than cannibalizing.

A light feature album for Drake, Scorpion has appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, Future, Michael Jackson, and surprisingly, former adversary, Jay Z. In addition to the Drake tropes we’ve grown to expect as fans–talking about his feelings, dealing with fame, women–Aubrey addresses the burning question of the legitimacy of his questioned child, who was brought to media’s forefront with Pusha T’s scathing “The Story of Adidon” diss track.

Drake goes on to address other aspects of the diss throughout the album, but fails to conjure up a distilled rebuttal to Push.

Regardless, Scorpion is worth the wait, and deserves your attention.
