Reports were being circulated that Kelly Rowland was broke and is about file bankruptcy. I wasn’t sure about how legit they were until details regarding the singer’s debt were publicly unveiled.

Grammy-Award winning singer Kelly Rowland, sidekick to Beyonce in the group Destiny’s Child, owes the IRS more than $98,000 in delinquent federal taxes, according to public records. Rowland, 29, rose to fame in the girl group, which broke through with the 1999 hit tune “Bills, Bills, Bills.” After the group broke up, she released a few solo albums and maintains an acting career that included portraying Motown legend (and ex-Detroit Councilwoman/tax delinquent) Martha Reeves in a 2003 episode of the TV show “American Dreams.” The IRS filed a $98,634 lien against Rowland on Nov. 8 with the New York City Register.
