This year the MTV Video Music Awards was pretty entertaining. The big winner of the night was Lady GaGa with a whopping 8 awards.  Eminem was the second big winner of the night winning 2 moon men. This year it was not really about the awards, because after all the drama with the Swift/Kanye incident last year everyone was pretty anxious to see what was going to go down (both Kanye and Swift were scheduled to perform). I`ll get to how that went down in a quick performance recap ( or scroll to the end for award winners list):

Nicki Minaj and Will.i.am. – ‘Your Love’ and ‘Check It Out’
Nicki Minaj, dressed in a purple and pink retro spacesuit. I personally expected way better and at times it was down right horrible (was S.Beezy even supposed to be a part of this performance???) and its sad because I`m a big Minaj fan. Somewhere Lauren Hill is laughing, Lil Kim is clapping, Drake is regretful , & MTV is happy they booked her for the Pre Show instead!Will.i.am also came out in blackface in a WTF moment.

Eminem and Rihanna ‘Not Afraid’ and ‘Love the Way You Lie’

Justin Bieber‘Baby’ and ‘Somebody to Love’
This one is causing a lot of drama due to lil Biebs lip syncing the whole performance. Maybe his voice finally dropped and they are trying to cover it up.

Usher‘DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love’ and ‘OMG’
Usher put on the iconic dance moves that make his videos memorable while performing his two most recent hits, ‘DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love’ and ‘OMG.’ Wearing ‘Tron’-inspired outfits of black with white trim, this was the best performance of the night!!!!

Florence and the Machine – ‘Dog Days Are Over’
Never heard the song but I think it might be hippie music, homegirl can sing though.

Taylor Swift – ‘You’re Still an Innocent’
Video of her Kanye West-interrupted acceptance speech from 2009’s VMAs ran in the background before Taylor began singing, get over it!

Drake, Mary J. Blige and Swizz Beatz ‘Fancy’

B.O.B. Feat.. Hayley Williams of Paramore ‘Airplanes’

Linkin Park – ‘The Catalyst’

Kanye West – ‘Runaway’
After this the crowd was chanting his name. I bet Taylor Swift was annoyed by that.
