In part two of my interview with David Banner he discusses the downsides of being a successful artist.  How it’s difficult for average people to comprehend what he goes through on the day to day.  A specific story of him winning a Grammy , but having no one to share it with comes to mind.

Banner also informs us that he had to give up smoking weed, and cut back on the drinking because he “has to much business to run”.  He runs an advertising company, a production company, and he also has his music and film careers to handle.  Banner claims that this can lead to misguided hate, and that people need to help themselves before anyone else can help them.  Finally be sure to check out Part 1 of my interview.

Grammy Nominations Announced: Kendrick Lamar Leads With 11 Nods

This morning, the nominees for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards have been announced. Kendrick Lamar is nominated 11 times in nine categories. Right behind him is The Weeknd whose up for seven Grammys, Drake with five, Alabama Shakes and Florence and the Machine are up for four, and Kanye West, D'Angelo, and Diplo are up for three. Video: Talib Kweli & 9th Wonder – “Which Side Are You On” feat. Tef Poe & Kendra Ross

Last month, 9th Wonder and Talib Kweli -- under the pseudonym Indie 500 -- were graciously joined by West Coasters Problem and Bad Lucc. Today, they're sharing the powerful visuals from their latest track, ''Which Side Are You On'', featuring another pair of guests in Tef Poe and Kendra Ross. Furthermore, Kweli revealed the concept behind ''Which Side Are You On'', as well as it's moving video. Kweli says the song ''pays homage to those murdered by the police over the past year and those who have taken a stand'' and that the video -- which contains footage from the Ferguson Rocks and Ferguson Is Everywhere fundraiser -- features Tom Morello, Bun B, Common, Outernational, Cornel West, Pharoahe Monch, Jasiri X, M-1 of dead prez and K'Valentine all of whom ''participated in the August concerts''. New Music: 9th Wonder & Talib Kweli – “Pay Ya Dues” feat. Problem & Bad Lucc

Super-producer 9th Wonder and all-around stand-up emcee Talib Kweli, better known as Indie 500, are finally sharing the first offering from their collaborative project in "Pay Ya Dues," which features a pair of West Coast rappers, Problem and Bad Lucc. No word as to when their highly-anticipated debut project will drop, but alls we know is "Pay Ya Dues" is the jam and the production, handled by The Soul Council's Eric G, is dope as hell. New Music: David Banner – “My Uzi” feat. Big K.R.I.T.

The South links up on David Banner's "My Uzi." Banner and Big K.R.I.T. team up to take on an old Banner cut ("Suicide Doors" featuring the legendary UGK) which is convenient given the Southern tinged themes and obviously the two rappers on the track. The chorus even samples Pimp C's "My uzi weight a ton" line from the OG track. Listen after the jump.

New Music: YG – “2015 Flow” (Prod. DJ Mustard)

Looks like YG got the memo his debut album My Krazy Life isn't receiving a Grammy nod. In fact, a lot of heavily favored hip-hop albums were snubbed from the 2015 Grammys. Instead of rewarding artistically inclined albums like Freddie Gibbs & Madlib's Piñata or even Rick Ross' commercially successful Hood Billionaire, the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS) saw Iggy Azalea's The New Classic better fit for some (more) recognition. Well, Compton's YG, being the gangsta that he is, ain't just gonna sit around and take it on the chin, as he unleashes "2015 Flow," which targets said award show.   1. we as HIP HOP lovers should promote ppl like this who give back and have converted to more positive ways n expressin themselves and tryin to have a positive affect on the youth today verses the ones who dnt give a fuck…food for thought
