Part of my glorious position is the opportunity to interview artists that not only are dope and entertaining, but also have had a profound impact on my life. This was the case when I caught up with Buckshot backstage at the first stop of the Rock The Bells Tour in Chicago. The Black Moon MC has been spitting fire since 1993, creating the classic Enta Da Stage and holding his own amongst greats like Tupac, Jay-Z and the Notorious B.I.G. during that era. On top of putting out albums with 9th Wonder, he signed acts such as B-Real, Kidz In The Hall and Skyzoo, becoming a major player in independent distribution. We talked about his new album with KRS-ONE, being indie and it’s struggles, and what years of smoking purple can do to a person’s memory.
