New York is tired of being an afterthought in hip-hop’s regional dominance conversation. The birthplace of hip-hop, and once the controlling area, New York still produces top talent–see A$AP Rocky and the Mob, Dave East, A Boogie–but they are in a losing race with places like Atlanta.
