Who knew that people took out copyright licenses on hand signs? Well, Jay-Z- didn’t and now he’s paying up for it. Former pro wrestler Diamond Dallas Page copyrighted his hand gesture called the “Diamond Cutter”, way back in the 90’s. Jay-Z used the same hand gesture, probably not knowing it was copyrighted, in most of his videos and on the cover of the “Roc La Familia” album, as well as t-shirts. Page filed a lawsuit against Jay-Z and Roc-A-Wear for copyright and trademark infringement.

Both Jay-Z and Page settled the lawsuit late last month, with Jigga man handing down an unspecified amount of cash to the wrestler. Page subsequently dropped the lawsuit after Hov passed him the check. There’s no word if Jay will no longer use the hand gesture.
