With a helping hand from quite the cast.

In the digital age, while it’s by no means “easy”, gaining exposure has never been more accessible. If someone has talent, they’re one viral clip or moment away from tending to the masses, and transforming that bedroom DIY recording studio into multi-million dollar deals. Thanks to his hit, and subsequent remix with Billy Ray Cyrus, Lil Nas X is one of those fortunate individuals who capitalized on viral fandom.

Everyone’s heard “Old Town Road”; it currently has over 228mm Spotify plays, with the remix accruing over 206mm streams.

The song that allowed the 20-year-old artist to leave the proverbial bedroom studio in favor of rubbing elbows with the stars, “Old Town Road” is the biggest hit of 2019. And now, it’s received the official music video — or movie, rather.

A five-minute visual (the original song is under two-minutes), the official music “movie” paints a story of Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus being transported from ye Old Town Road circa 1889 to its modern day iteration.

Filled with humor and cameos — like Vince Staples, Diplo, Chris Rock, Haha Davis and more — the “Old Town Road” movie is a sight to be seen — and currently number-two on YouTube’s top-trending videos at over 1mm views.
