Wayne is still one of the best.
After dropping off the stellar sixth Dedication installment, Birdman promised Wayne fans that they’d receive one more thing before the year’s end: the fabled Tha Carter V album. More elusive that OJ Simpson in his prime, this album has been rumored since its predecessor’s release: August 2011. With renewed faith issued by Birdman, Wayne Stans can actually see a light at the end of this very dark, convoluted tunnel. Before we receive that, Weezy has satiated his fanbase with a great loosie, “Vizine”.
Unlike the majority of his previous work, “Vizine” retains a certain lucidity that pairs well with his increasingly astute lyricism and wit. Borrowing a similar flow to Boogie on “Nigga Needs”, Wayne cascades down the slowed-tempo production to illicit chilling rhymes and vivid bars. Simply, it’s just further reason why we need Tha Carter V to drop immediately.
