Congrats, Wayne.

Whether or not he sits atop your Mount Rushmore of rappers, Lil Wayne is the fabric of legend. With over 20-years under his belt professionally, garnished by five platinum albums, Weezy has molded hip-hop with his signature sound and freestyle recording process.

Over 20-years in, and Wayne is still doing it: his most recent album, Funeral, just went number-one.

Funeral’s first-week showing moved 139,000 album equivalent units; 38,000 include pure album sales. Roddy Ricch, Eminem, Russ, and Post Malone placed two through five, respectively, marking another triumphant week for hip-hop.

Following his most recently-certified platinum album, Tha Carter V, Funeral is further proof of Weezy’s longevity and transcendence. Joining him on his 13th solo studio LP is an eclectic collection of guests, including Big Sean, Lil Baby, Jay Rock, Adam Levine, XXXtentacion, and more. No matter the decade, Wayne’s cachet is perpetual.

Congrats, Wayne.
