Logic is on a different level.

Logic is far from your typical artist. A man who infiltrated a predominantly masculine genre by being unapologetically himself, Logic’s love for anime and comics is only rivaled by his passion for music and writing. And it is that exact transcendent artistic mindset that has birthed Logic’s latest endeavors: his first novel, Supermarket, and the accompanying 13-song soundtrack.

Largely a departure from his traditional hip-hop roots, the Supermarket soundtrack is deeply-rooted in guitar-driven ballads, alternative rock, and experimental flair; Logic collaborated with Mac DeMarco on several tracks.

An audio complement to his first novel — written under his government name, Bobby Hall — the Supermarket novel tells a tale of a depressed suburbanite, Flynn, who takes a job at a local supermarket. Upon arriving to work, Flynn encounters a crime scene and — well, you’ll have to pick-up a copy to find out.

This dual release of novel and soundtrack is an apt microcosm of Logic’s far-reaching artistry that can’t, and refuses to be, pigeonholed.
