Mac Miller?

So Mac Miller is the newest white rapper to hit the scene and the Pittsburgh native recently inked a deal with Rostrum Records, which is the label responsible for the development of Wiz Khalifa.  That alone peaked my interest in the kid.  Below is his four part videos series that is a prelude to his KIDS mixtape.  The videos are inspired by one of my favorite movies of all time KIDS.  However, he’s a white suburban kid, and I can personally attest that we tend to not be the epi-center of culture.  I mean in one video there is a close up on his lacrosse sticks, later in the song he mentions selling weed, and finally he mentions that his Mom doesn’t like how much of her money he’s spending on sneakers.  If you’re selling weed, do you really need help from Mommy for kicks?  It’s just ironic to me that it appears as if the “white boy swag” is becoming borderline trendy in hip-hop these days.  Either way I can see this kid “winning” regardless of if you f*ck with him or not.  While his music may be slightly disposable the “lifestyle” music is what the kids want these days.  I guess we’ll just have to see how he develops.

Edit: My man Artie clarified that he is indeed not from the suburbs but from a part of Pittsburgh called Point Breeze, but you get my point.
