Not Again! Talib Kweli Brawls With Wife At NYC Bar

Following a listening party for his upcoming album, Talib Kweli and wife, DJ Eque, reportedly broke into fisticuffs at a New York City bar.  According to the New York Post, Kweli kicked off his after-party at the 14th Street bar, Snap, by “thanking the sponsor, Hennessey, for paying for his wedding in 2009, saying otherwise he wouldn’t have got married.”  While this probably didn’t sit well with Eque, she was said to be perturbed when she found her husband flirting with other women, prompting her to “[fly] into a rage” and go Gorilla Monsoon on Kweli

The Post reports this was not a beautiful struggle, as Eque “went at him and they were almost wrestling before they fell back on a table, smashing some glasses.” Talib and Eque continued their argument as they were escorted out of Snap.

This is not the first time Talib has gotten into a physical altercation with a female.  In 2007, the Black Star member was involved in a fight with a woman at 50 Cent’s house.  The two parties took turns hitting one-another, leading to an array of rumors about the Brooklyn emcee. This isn’t exactly something a “conscious rapper” would do, but then again neither is shilling Hennessey.  Talib Kweli’s upcoming album, Gutter Rainbows, drops January 25th.
