Polo G, one of Chicago’s most exciting bubbling artists, has found the delicate balance of musicality and thoughtful lyricism — a rare finding, lost on a lot of his peers. Distilling harrowing tales of his adolescence into an array of production, Polo has a lot to say, and with his commercial appeal, people are tuned in.
Today, Polo returns with the help of Mustard on his latest track, “Heartless.” He released it alongside a music video, as well.
In the Ryan Lynch-directed visual, we follow Polo G as he provides a taste of his experiences by touring his hometown streets. Referring to himself as “heartless,” a jaded state rendered by witnessing a bed of atrocities, Polo loads his bars with emotional pain and menacing rhetoric.
The dark, honest content is interestingly juxtaposed by Polo’s lighter singing, but the tone finds comfort in ominous vibes with Mustard’s production.
