SandrasaysAfter the release of “Dreams Money Can Buy,” Drake is definitely enticing his fans for what’s to come. Not only is Drake becoming a renown artist, his business acumen these days is on point. He’s using his relationships with fellow artists as an advantage to create a brand. His annual OVO Festival, which is a multi-artist showcase of musical talent, has become a must-see event.
Last year, Drake, using his incredible sense of networking, had a star-studded line-up of Eminem, Jay-Z, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Bun B, Fabolous and Kardinal Offishall. In an MTV interview, Drake spoke about his hopes for the festival, which is held in his hometown of Toronto: “I truly believe this is entertainment at a level that the city has never seen before. I’m hoping that it is a safe and magical night and that OVO Festival becomes tradition every year.”
And so it happened, as the second year rolls around, Drake keeps it coming as he enlists Rick Ross for a second time) and fellow Toronto artist (and one of our favorites), The Weeknd along with more surprise guests! Sounds exciting, he did mention his desire to bring out J. Cole, Nicki Minaj and other artists out for this festival. Hopefully he will give his Toronto fans a treat.
OVO Festival will take place July 31st 2011. Tickets go on sale June 3rd at 11 am EST on the Canadian Ticketmaster.
