From playing with toy Lambos to driving the real thing, these two are now “Ballin’.”

In late June, the multi-platinum producer Mustard delivered his third studio album, Perfect Ten. Home to cuts featuring the late Nipsey Hussle to current stars like Migos, Perfect Ten is a loaded half-hour journey of equal parts emotional depth and commercial appeal. One track that straddles these two territories is the Roddy Ricch-assisted single, “Ballin’.” Recently, the duo linked for the track’s official music video.

Scenes of Roddy and Mustard as starry-eyed kids juxtaposed with their current successful selves structures the “Ballin’” video, offering tokens of aspiration to fellow dreamers. Both emerging from the dirt to enjoy their glamorous lives, Roddy and Mustard personify “manifest destiny” — they started as kids watch their favorite stars on TV; they’re now the source of inspiration for today’s youth. Life has a funny knack of coming full-circle.
