Top Dawg Entertainment’s SiR, the California-based label’s soulful and pensive artist, has garnered a deep fan base with a collection of projects that showcase his diverse aesthetic. This Friday, August 30th, the 32-year-old musician will add a new chapter to his story with the forthcoming LP, Chasing Summer.
The excitement for this album was jolted by the Kendrick Lamar-assisted single, “Hair Down,” released a few weeks ago, and has received further hype thanks to SiR revealing the tracklist.
Announced on his Instagram yesterday, August 27th, SiR’s two-part post creatively revealed the featured artists through a live artistic demonstration. Embodying a journeyer aesthetic, the video shows each track and accompanying feature as stamps in his passport, soundtracked by a to-be-featured song.
Throughout the video, the names Lil Wayne, Smino, Kendrick, Sabrina Claudio, Jill Scott, Zacari, and Kadhja Bonet are revealed; producers like Boi-1da, Kal Banx, Sounwave, and SiR himself are also included.
Chasing Summer follows SiR’s 2018 album, November.
